Only One

Ear buds in, hood pulled over her face.
Old hoodie a friend gaver her long ago.
Eyes closed, she is in another world.
Am I the only one who knows?
People look at phones, read, whatever.
The train rocks and shudders and hisses.
Another world out there, unknown, unseen.
I watch her. I remember.
The train stops and she gets off into the night.
I watch her go, disappear down the stairs.
The train stars up again, and the night goes on.
Once, she saved the world.
